ShopTrac Pro | ShopTrac Pro PDF Brochure

7:30 AM Pat, a shop floor supervisor, receives the Production Schedule that says he must produce 20 units during the first shift for a key customer.

8:00 AM Arriving at the plant, employees swipe their badges at the ShopTrac Pro terminal, which immediately starts tracking their time and attendance. The production workers receive their work orders and start on their assigned job/operation. Throughout the day, they record the time they spend don each operation and the number of pieces produced and scrapped via Shop Trac Pro's multiple data collection devises.

8:15 AM After checking the ShopTrac Pro-generated Attendance Report, Pat realizes that he needs two additional people on Line 2. After conferring with the team leader, he reallocates labor resources to help him meet the schedule. With a quick job transfer, ShopTrac Pro assures that the reassigned employees will be paid according to the requirements of the reassigned operation.

11:00 AM The key customer calls to check on the status of their order and to request their shipment be sent via overnight delivery. ShopTrac Pro lets Pat review the status of the work-in-process immediately. Because production data is validated at the time of entry, Pat confirms that Line 3 has so far produced seven units and that the projected completion date for this customer's order is today. He is at once able to tell his customer the good news.

3:00 PM Pat checks the job status, which tells him that only 17 units are ready to ship so far and that three more are needed to complete his customer's work order. To figure out why the production schedule is not on track, Pat reviews the work-in-process. According to ShopTrac Pro, production is three units in arrears because the machine went down for one hour at 2:00 p.m. Based on this information, Pat decides the split the work order so that the remaining pieces are produced on multiple production lines in order to meet the customer's request. ShopTrac Pro records the actual time spent as well as the labor cost for each portion of the work order.

4:30 PM All workers from the first shift swipe their badges before leaving for the day. The time and attendance data is collected, and together with that day's actual production data, is fed to the company's ERP system.

With ShopTrac Pro's instant access to the current status of the production schedule, Pat met his important customer's demands.
